The Extravagance

Scripture is clear. Jesus came to earth not to take but to give. His incarnation, his ministry, and ultimately, his death on a cross were all acts of extravagant generosity. God gave his one and only Son for you and me. It was the supreme act of generosity. In Jesus, we see the perfect reflection of The Extravagance of God.

Those who follow Jesus are called to exhibit the same kind of extravagant generosity in their own lives. Extravagant generosity is not a momentary act. It is a way of living. It is a way of seeing the world and seeing others. Extravagant generosity gives oxygen to God’s mission to redeem and restore. It’s generous people that God uses to change the world.
